Pearl's Favorite Plant: Compact Holly

With a topiary garden containing over 300 individual plants, have you ever wondered what Pearl Fryar’s favorite type of plant to work with is? When Mr. Fryar was recently asked this question, he said that his favorite is compact holly.

Pearl prunes his topiaries every four to six weeks to get the density he wants for each piece, and he says that compact holly takes this amount of pruning very well. Mr. Fryar also shared that compact holly would be a great plant for beginning artists to start off with. He said other plants, like boxwood, require spraying and are more difficult to maintain.

Do you have any questions you would like to ask Pearl? If so, please visit Mr. Fryar's Facebook or Twitter page and leave a comment or send a message with your question. The most popular question will answered by Pearl next month.
